Captain

M/Y Convoyage | 120' Hargrave

From March 2022 to March 2024, I served as Captain for a 3-crew, 10-guest vessel, overseeing a variety of responsibilities to ensure smooth operations. I navigated from Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas and Wrightsville, NC, while leading the training and development of my crew in all aspects of vessel operations. I managed logistical tasks such as arranging dockage, fueling, and coordinating routine maintenance, including oil changes and minor repairs. I also handled customs and immigration processes and organized a 5-week boatyard service, liaising directly with the yard to ensure necessary work was completed.

M/Y Jana | 16m Carver

From July to November 2021, I completed 3 to 4 trips per month, with some lasting up to 5 months, cruising from South Florida to Nantucket, NY. I managed the logistics of docking and fueling the vessel, ensuring smooth operations throughout. During this time, I also took on the responsibility of teaching the new owner all aspects of vessel operations, providing them with the knowledge and skills to manage the vessel independently. Additionally, I assisted with boatyard services to ensure the vessel remained in optimal condition.

M/Y Grandeur | 120' Danube

From October 2020 to April 2021, I served as Captain on a 5-crew, 8-guest vessel with a 34' tender in tow, overseeing all aspects of daily operations until boatyard service began on January 5, 2021. I cruised through areas including St. Martin and St. Barts before docking in Fort Lauderdale. During the boatyard period, I was responsible for a range of tasks, including painting, electrical work, hydraulic repairs, and other related maintenance. Once the maintenance was completed, I ensured the safe delivery of the vessel to Marsh Harbor, Abaco, Bahamas.

M/Y Bright Star | 80' Hatteras

From July 2019 to January 2020, I served as Captain for a high-demand program, overseeing all aspects of operations. I managed frequent day cruises, averaging 12 per month, with up to 25 guests. I was responsible for setting up and administering systems for provisioning, inventory control, maintenance, accounting, and reporting. In addition to planning passages and routes, I handled all preparations for each voyage, including provisioning. My duties ranged from fueling and maintenance to guest services and overall vessel operations. I also prepared and submitted detailed budgets and expense reports to the Owner, covering fuel, supplies, repairs, and maintenance.

M/Y Bodacious | 106' San Lorenzo

From April 2001 to May 2019, I served as Captain for the same Owner, operating and managing several vessels ranging from 48 to 106 feet, and was responsible for all aspects of operations. From 2015 to 2019, I captained the M/Y Bodacious, a 106' San Lorenzo, for the Owner's trips, which typically lasted 3 to 4 weeks at a time in the Florida Keys, Bahamas, West Palm Beach, and along the US East Coast, accommodating up to 10 guests. I was involved in evaluating and purchasing several vessels, including a 56' Sunny Briggs, 77' Hatteras, 68' Sea Ray, 80' Hatteras, 94' San Lorenzo, and 106' San Lorenzo. I also managed warranty and boatyard work for multiple vessels, including the 80' Hatteras, 77' Hatteras, 68' Sea Ray, 94' San Lorenzo, and 106' San Lorenzo. In addition to my captaining duties, which included customs and immigration, fueling, maintenance, guest services, and overall vessel operations, I prepared and submitted detailed budgets and expenses to the Owner, covering contractor payments, dockage, fuel, supplies, repairs, and maintenance. I also managed the Owner's Hilton Head, SC property, which included two houses, docks, and various small boats. Over the years, I had the honor of winning the Bertram/Hatteras Shootout in 2001 and the Bahamas Billfish Championship in 2006.

From 1998 to 2001, I worked as a Sales Representative for a boat supply company, offering products such as boat brushes, the Swobbit, Water Blade, water softeners, and various other marine items directly to boats and marine stores. I managed sales and client relationships across a multi-state territory, including Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and consistent business growth in the region.

S/F Intimidator | 50' Hatteras

From 1996 to 1998, I served as Captain for Dale Earnhardt, owner of the S/F Intimidator, a 50' Hatteras, operating primarily between South Florida and the Bahamas. My responsibilities included overseeing all aspects of vessel operations, including customs and immigration, fueling, maintenance, guest services, and overall operations. I ensured the vessel was always maintained and ready for the Owner's use, performing routine oil changes, fuel filter replacements, and general upkeep such as wash and wax. Additionally, I managed and completed various boatyard projects to keep the vessel in top condition.

S/F Sunday Money | 75' Hatteras

In addition to my role as Captain, I also served as Mate for the M/Y Sunday Money, a 75’ Hatteras owned by Dale Earnhardt, where I assisted with all voyage preparations, including passage and route planning, and provisioning. I played a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the vessel, contributing to routine maintenance tasks such as oil and filter changes, washing, waxing, and managing bottom jobs. My experience also involved troubleshooting and replacing critical components like bilge and head pumps, ensuring the vessel was always in prime operational condition.
